July 8, 2005
The Institute for Traffic Care and the Spanish road safety NGO called TRAFPOL have agreed to establish an IRSA – Spain in Madrid. The Police Academy in Madrid has agreed to host the international academy within its premises. A Memorandum of Understanding between the parties involved has been signed. IRSA – Spain will coordinate the activities and represent the Association for the Latin-American countries. The establishment of the Academy is scheduled for August 2005.
The Academy will not only train the police officers, but also fire fighters and paramedics. It will be the first Academy in which the first responders will be trained for their own specific tasks and also a combined training to optimize the collaboration at the scene of the crash.
