IRSA – Canada

The Institute for Traffic Care and the Canadian Road Safety Network have agreed to establish the IRSA-Canada. The governmental authorities of Toronto and the police force of Toronto have decided to support this initiative. A Memorandum of Understanding to start the necessary procedures has been signed. IRSA – Canada will create a special premise to train – the – trainers. The establishment of the IRSA – Canada is scheduled for 14 September 2005.

IRSA – Association has established cooperation with Universities

IRSA – Association has established cooperation with Universities in Ethiopia, Ecuador, Northern Cyprus, Romania and Spain, to introduce Road Safety as an official study.

IRSA Specialists from Spain are writing at this moment the Road Safety Study package. On 30th September the first contract will be signed with the most prestigious and oldest universities of Salamanca in Spain.

Besides the introduction of Road Safety Study, the universities will introduce also a Post graduate study to monitor the effects of the work of IRSA at national or local level in developing countries.

IRSA considers this as a unique breakthrough.

IRSA will introduce the Road Safety Study into all the universities which collaborate with local or regional working IRSA’s.

The Association IRSA – Spain Was Established

On the 5th of July 2005 the association IRSA – Spain was established by initiative of the Spanish road safety association (NGO) TRAFPOL. The board of TRAFPOL consist of police officials of a number of Spanish municipalities.

The aim and objectives of IRSA – Spain is to assist the IRSA – Association with its activities in Latin-American countries by delivering knowledge, training programs and training, and to assist the IRSA – Association with its extension of local / regional IRSA’s in Latin-America.
IRSA – Spain will sign a contract with the Police Academy in Madrid to assist IRSA – Association by offering a training facility, training programs and trainers.

IRSA – Spain will start its work in the Dominican Republic, Costa Rica, Equador, Brazil, Uruguay and Argentina.

IRSA – Ecuador

The authorities of Quito the capital of the Ecuador have agreed to establish an IRSA – Ecuador. The initiative has the support from the Ministry of Transport, the Ministry of the Interior, the road authorities, the municipality police, and the University of Ecuador. The Institute for Traffic Care and the representative of the municipality Quito have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to start the procedures for the establishment. The representatives of the Spanish road safety organization TRAFPOL are the liaison between IRSA and the Ecuadorian authorities.

IRSA – Association assist the government of Moldavia with road safety training programs

July 12, 2005

IRSA – Romania will provide the government of Moldavia with a serie of training programs to improve the quality of the trainers of the emergency services, starting with the police. Furthermore IRSA – Romania will assist the government with advices on a number of road safety policy countermeasures which will help improving the transportation, mobility and road safety situation in the country.
